Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients is any ingredient that provides biologically active or other direct effect in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease or to affect the structure or any function of the body of humans. APIs are produced by processing chemical compounds.
Analytical Standard is a compound of high purity and known concentration to be used as a calibration standard for a given assay. In the case of Entheogen, this is psilocybin. Analytical standards are mainly used in a series of processes for the identification, determination, quantitation, and purification of compounds.
Bioreactor is defined as a closed system used for bioprocessing which supports the growth of cells in a culture medium and is used by Entheogen in the production of the biomass of medicinal mushrooms and their active metabolites.
Organic or Natural compounds is a natural compound or substance produced by a living organism—that is, found in nature.
Mycelium is a rich network of thin filaments called hyphae that collect food, water, and nutrients to nourish the fungus.
Pharmacodynamics is defined as the response of the body to the drug. It refers to the relationship between drug concentration at the site of action and any resulting effects, namely, the intensity and time course of the effect and adverse effects.
Pharmacogenomics (sometimes called pharmacogenetics) is a field of research that studies how a person's genes affect how he or she responds to medications.
Pharmacokinetics may be defined as the study of the dynamic movements of foreign chemicals (xenobiotics) during their passage through the body and as such encompass the kinetics of absorption, distribution, biotransformation/metabolism and excretion (ADME).
Psilocin is an indole hallucinogen. It acts by altering the action of serotonin (an indole amine neurotransmitter) that occurs in brain tissue. Psilocin, like psilocybin, produces a hallucinogenic experience
Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound produced by more than 200 species of fungi.
Psychoactive compounds are chemical substances that, upon ingestion, induce psychotropic effects and change the function of the nervous system and results in alterations of perception, mood, cognition, and behavior.Synthetic compounds refers to a substance that is man-made by synthesis, rather than being produced by nature. It also refers to a substance or compound formed under human control by any chemical reaction, either by chemical synthesis (chemosyntesis) or by biosynthesis.
